Using microalga Coelastrella sp. to remove some nutrients from wastewater invitro

نویسندگان

چکیده

Microalgae have been increasingly used for wastewater treatment due to their capacity assimilate nutrients. Samples of were taken from the Erbil channel near Dhahibha village in northern Iraq. The microalga Coelastrella sp. was three doses (0.2, 1, and 2g. l-1) this experiment 21 days, samples periodically (every 3 days) analyzed physicochemical parameters such as pH, EC, Phosphate, Nitrate, BOD5, addition to, Chlorophyll a concentration. Results showed that highest dose 2g.l-1 most effective removing nutrients, confirmed by significant differences (p≤0.05) between all doses. removal percentage recorded ammonium pass 96% followed NO3 with 95%, while BOD5 ranged 88.7 93.5%. Decreases nutrients coincided an increase chlorophyll-a content biomass on 17th day reaching 1.43 mg. l-1.

Polyacrylamide + Al2(SO4)3 and polyacrylamide + CaO remove coliform bacteria and nutrients from swine wastewater.

Animal wastes are a major contributor of nutrients and enteric microorganisms to surface water and ground water. Polyacrylamide (PAM) mixtures are an effective flocculent, and we hypothesized that they would reduce transport of microorganisms in flowing water. After waste water running at 60.0 1 min(-1) flowed over PAM + Al2(SO4)3, or PAM + CaO in furrows, total coliform bacteria (TC) and fecal...

Biological removal of zinc from wastewater using Aspergillus sp

The present study was conducted on removal of zinc in a continuous flow system by Aspergillus sp. during its growth. The fungal strain was isolated from industrial wastewater. The experiments under continuous culture conditions were performed in two reactors of working volume 650ml and 3 litres respectively. The experiments were conducted using sugar concentrations of 10, 15 and 20g/l and at di...

Phytoremediation to remove nutrients and improve eutrophic stormwaters using water lettuce (Pistia stratiotes L.).

BACKGROUND, AIM, AND SCOPE Water quality impairment by nutrient enrichment from agricultural activities has been a concern worldwide. Phytoremediation technology using aquatic plants in constructed wetlands and stormwater detention ponds is increasingly applied to remediate eutrophic waters. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the effectiveness and potential of water lettuce (Pistia s...
